World Trade Centre (WTC) Bhubaneswar is a member of the World Trade Centre’s Association (WTCA) New York and is an initiative of M. Visvesvaraya Industrial Research and Development Centre (MVIRDC) , promoter of WTC Mumbai. WTC Bhubaneswar has been marking its successful presence in the state of Odisha after being inaugurated by the Hon’ble Chief Minister Shri. Naveen Patnaik on 8th July 2014 and has been organizing highly successful programs and educational activities with an objective to increase the awareness and inclinations of the local business fraternity to perform international trade as well as to uplift the socio-economic profile of the State. The center thus aims to facilitate trade and investment promotion in the State, assist local business to foray in the global markets and help enhance the competitiveness of Odisha. With the presence of the World Trade Center at Bhubaneswar, Odisha is actively connected to the Global Network of 320 WTCs in 92 countries.
We further take immense pleasure in sharing that World Trade Centre Bhubaneswar is observing World Trade Day on Friday, 21st July 2023 at Hotel Swosti Premium, Bhubaneswar. World Trade Day happens to coincide with World Trade Week which witnesses events organized by World Trade Centers across the world in order to promote international trade. World Trade Day celebration is thus a unique platform for the budding entrepreneurs, exporters, MSMEs entrepreneurs of the State of Odisha to not only learn and discuss key issues pertaining to global business but also gain understanding of the intricacies of international trade, explore new markets, learn from experts on the emerging opportunities that markets across the borders have to offer. The program through its networking session also helps the MSMEs of the State to explore export opportunities with other countries encouraging them to participate in International Trade.
This is the sixth successive year that this event is being organized by WTC Bhubaneswar in the State of Odisha with a view to create awareness on international trade and its impact on economic development as well as the regional growth of the State. The event in the past has witnessed fruitful participation of Indian as well as Foreign Consulates from the ASEAN Regions such as Singapore, Vietnam, Malaysia etc. However, this year we intend to highlight trade with other regions with high business prospects. The event will be marked by a discussion on the theme “International Trade – Growing Business Across Borders”. Ms. Petula Thomas, CEO, Indo – Australian Chamber of Commerce shall be gracing the occasion as Chief Speaker. Senior government officials and eminent experts from the industry would also be present on the occasion to share their views.
During the program, World Trade Center Bhubaneswar will also recognize the outstanding contributions of MSMEs, small businesses, trade promotion organizations, companies and businesses that have excelled in international markets by presenting them with awards under different categories and duly recognize their business leadership, achievements, and best practices.
